With the world watching, the ever-relaxed Usain Bolt gave a royal wave to the
80,000 fans rammed into Olympic Stadium prior to the start of the mens 200-metre
final. Earl Thomas White Jersey . Less than 20
seconds later, Bolt became sprinting royalty. The Jamaican again outduelled
countryman Yohan Blake at the London 2012 Olympic Games, this time to win the
200m Olympic title in a time of 19.32 seconds, moving into the legendary status
he had talked about in the leadup to London.  “Its what I came here to do. Im
now a legend, Im also the greatest athlete to live. I am in the same category as
Michael Johnson. Im honoured. Its all about Michael Johnson for me. I grew up
watching him break world records. Hes a great athlete.”  He becomes the first
man to ever repeat as 200m champion in Olympic history.  Hes also the first to
defend both the 100m and 200m titles.  “Ive got nothing left to prove. Ive
showed the world Im the best and, right now, I just want to enjoy myself. This
is my moment. Ill never forget this. Lane 7 has been good to me these past
couple of days.”  Lane 7 was Bolts assignment when he raced to an Olympic-record
9.63s win, the fastest in a field that contained the four fastest sprinters in
the history of the sport.  Despite less star power in the field, he continued to
shine.   “Look at all the flashbulbs going off, a great moment in sports, for
one of the greatest athletes weve ever seen,” said three-time Olympian and
CTVOlympics analyst Dave Moorcroft. “He loves this moment, this is his stage.”
Bolt blasted out of the starting blocks, taking control of the race before the
stagger. Down the final straightaway, he and Blake separated themselves from the
pack, with Bolt in control. With the race in hand, and the title no longer in
doubt, Bolt opted not to power through the line and chase a world record.   “I
knew it would be possible. I came off the corner but I was not quick enough. I
could feel the strain in my back a bit,” he said.  Instead, in almost signature
Bolt fashion, he eased up, and started the celebration early.   He admitted
afterwards that he had felt the weight of expectations leading up to London,
particularly as he lost the 100m and 200m race to Blake at the Jamaican Olympic
Trials in June, while also dealing with a hamstring injury.  “It was hard for
me, it was hard. Im really dedicated to my work. I knew what London (Olympic
Games) meant and Im proud of myself,” he said.  That did not stop Bolt, however,
from displaying the fun and showmanship that has become part of his pre-race
ritual.  Even before racing for a spot in history, he was joking around with the
lane volunteers and urging the crowd to hush as the competitors took to the
starting block.  “This is a real change for the face of the sport. Through the
80s and 90s we always saw bravado and prancing and tension,” said two-time
Olympian and CTVOlympics analyst Michael Smith. “But this is always a party,
when Usain Bolt is around. Such a different air and atmosphere when hes on the
track.”   The Jamaicans swept the podium, with Blake in second with a time of
19.44s, while Warren Weir turned in a personal-best time of 19.84s.  Blake
captured his second straight silver, after finishing behind Bolt in the mens
100m.  “Its great. Of course, I want to thank Usain and Jamaica. This is my
first Olympics, I cant complain,” Blake said. ”This moment here is special for
Jamaica. This is so good to get the one, two, three.”   The last country to
sweep the 200m was the United States in 2004.  Bolt will now team with Blake in
the mens 4×100m relay, hoping to complete the unmatched back-to-back-to-back
gold medal triumph in consecutive Olympic Games.  “Its wonderful. Jamaica has
proven that we are the greatest sprint country, ” Bolt said. “Its all about the
4×100m now, to have some fun and go out there and do our best.” Golden Tate Black Jersey . Kirchmann, from
Winnipeg, finished the 92-kilometre mountain stage in two hours 29 minutes 23
seconds, just behind winner Ina Yoko Teutenberg of Germany. Marshawn Lynch Black Jersey .Y. —Johnny
Powless had three goals and added four assists as the Rochester Knighthawks
handed the Calgary Roughnecks their first National Lacrosse League road loss of
the season, 14-12 on Saturday night. http://www.nflseahawksfansstore.com/nike-richard-sherman-Seahawks-jersey/
.S. Open on the line, Tiger Woods tested his game at The Olympic Club on
Tuesday. Zach Miller Jersey . Doug Fister pitched
gamely, but his fine effort wasnt good enough either. Russell Wilson Youth Jersey .S. Open mixed

champions.ANKARA, Turkey – The Canadian womens basketball team missed a golden
opportunity to secure an Olympic berth on Friday, falling 59-56 to Croatia in
quarter-final play at the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament. Croatia qualified
for the London Games despite being listed 20 spots lower than Canada at No. 31
in the FIBA world rankings. Canada meanwhile needs to win two games over the
weekend to capture the last remaining Olympic berth. The Canadians posted 18
offensive boards and put up 22 more shots than the Croatians. But head coach
Allison McNeill said her team wasted a solid defensive effort with poor
shooting. “At the end of the day we just missed shots that you probably shouldnt
at the level and they didnt,” she said. “If youre holding a team to 59 points
youre playing pretty good defence, but youve got to put the ball in the hoop a
bit more.” Canada had a five-point lead after three quarters, but were outscored
18-10 in the fourth thanks to a series of fouls and missed scoring
opportunities. McNeil said her team made a few key turnovers and missed a number
of easy layups. Courtnay Pilypaitis of Orleans, Ont., scored 11 points for
Canada. But Kimberley Smith of Surrey, B.C., continued to struggle, posting only
four points on the night. After scoring 11 points in the opening win oover Mali,
she has failed to reach double digits in consecutive losses. Kam Chancellor Jersey. McNeil said the guard
needs to find her scoring touch for the Canadians to qualify this weekend.
“People are really keying on her,” McNeil said. “Theres a lot of
clutch-and-grabbing, but we have to get her shots. “I know she will come back
and shoot the ball better, but we do have to get her going.” McNeil said her
team hadnt given any thought to their potential opponents, because they felt
confident about beating Croatia. But she doesnt expect her players to have
trouble refocusing on the task ahead. The team has spent the past four years
with a sports psychologist, who is currently with the squad in Turkey. He
addressed the team after the game, urging them to focus on the positive aspects
of their performance — mostly their defensive play — and to
forget about the struggles. “Weve got another chance, its not done yet,” McNeil
said. “Weve spent a lot of time talking about mental toughness and resiliency
over the last four years, so I think that will help us bounce back.” Three other
quarter-final games were scheduled for later in the day. The winners will
qualify for the Olympics while the losers will join Canada in the weekend
playoff. ’ ’ ’
