I am a 26 year old student from bonn, germany, and very fond of this product, although I can’t imagine right now what actually to do with it. But I guess a strong community will work this question soon enough. If you need help promoting your product in germany, translations, etc., let me know. |

Hi Tueksta, welcome to the community! As a student myself I found that I’m learning a lot just by playing with the SDK. Have you tried it out? |

Tchuss, |

hehe, your translation of "shipping" was hilarious, babelfish helped you a bit on that? :) when i finish my semester i’ll probably find some time to dig into the realms javabugging. until then i tell everyone about this product, and have some thoughts on what kind of software could support the true innovation of this modularized object. |

I needed help on ‘shipping’, ‘user’, and ‘community’. Surprisingly they don’t cover those words in German 101, but I still remember how to tell someone they are under arrest – ‘Halt, Sie sind verhaftet’. That one comes in handy a lot. I also remember the word for ‘cufflinks’, but can’t seem to remember more practical nouns like ‘desk’ or ‘chair’. Go figure :) |

didn’t know that bug labs has a forensic department ;) well, in germany it’s easy, whenever you don’t know the german word, you use the english one, most of the time it’s used anyway, and if not, it’s just cool new slang. some weird freaks try translating words like "homepage" with "Leitseite", which makes me think of nazi-germany, but not a word anyone would use of free will. So why translate it at all, when everybody understands the meaning of the word homepage in the first place. you’ll probably understand what i’m talking about when you try to expand to new markets with foreign languages ;) |
|
|
No forensic department, but we are opening a mens clothing division so I will get to use manschettenknopfel in daily conversation. At last! There is a lot of crossover between the languages that I’ve seen in my own experience. I never thought about homepage before, I think I would have attempted ‘hausseite’ first ;) Melinda |
