I’d really be interested in an FPGA module that also had the ability for sub-modules to be connected to it.

Specifically, the Altera Cyclone III EP3C25/EP3C40 have a vertical migration path for the FBGA324 package, are pretty darn cheap given horsepower and have sufficient logic/memory/multipliers to perform some extensive signal processing or algorithm acceleration.

In the future, the same type of connector used to connect to the Bug Base could have other FPGA sources/sinks (video, audio, radio, etc) that can be processed directly by the FPGA then passed to the Bug Base for application layer handling.

That sound pretty cool. So I would like one as well! ;-)
