I would like to see a pro audio module with XLR inputs and outputs, and 1/4 inch inputs and outputs. You could stack them and build your own multichannel mixing board / effects processer / recording studio. Combined with a wireless module of some kind you would be able to have musicians mixing their own effects onstage and sending that mix to the house mix wirelessly. |

A module is a good idea, but there might be another way to do it easily. My brother is using a Pro Tools breakout box for his studio setup, it connects to a desktop via USB. The BUG has USB so it might be possible to connect a Pro Tools box with the BUG and record, it would just be a matter of storage space to save the files on and the power requirements of the box, but I believe the break out box is self powered. Does anyone have a Kaossilator? I love this little portable synth and I think it should be possible with the Bug to create something similar. We already have a touchscreen, the announced audio module and contrary to the Kaossilator, we could actually save the loops and I’m sure we could attach a midi box to the USB port. Now what could really help with sound gadgets? A DSP module! It would make the really cool stuff possible, like effects and virtual analog synthesis! Not sure how expensive good DSP’s are, but if Korg can release something like the Kaossilator for $200, than a DSP can’t be that expensive. |
