I have a BUGbase that boots up to the point where it says booting the kernel and then hangs.  Reading through past posts I am guessing that I have an SD card partition or format problem, but I am not sure what is wrong. 

When I run fdisk -l on my host system (fdisk 2.17.2 on Ubuntu), I get the following details for my SD card:

I have loaded the filesystem image from “Angstrom-bug-image-production-glibc-ipk-2009.X-stable-bug20.rootfs.ext3”, verified it using e2fsck, resized using resize2fs, re-verified with e2fsck.  I can mount and view the partition and everything looks fine. 

Below is the full terminal session from my boot sequence.  Once it gets to booting the kernel it just hangs.  Any suggestions?

I’m betting that this is related to the machid variable that needs to be set in uboot.  For more info, see the README here:

I suppose this is a relatively rare problem, but it would be nice if Bug could publish a table showing which boot loader versions work with which filesystem images.  I thought that my bootloader was “new enough” that it would just work with the latest filesystem image.

Yeah this is really the only case in which your bootloader environment variables will impact your ability to boot.  In the future, with a planned next revision to the bugbase, that bootloader will be incompatible with BUG2.0, and bears documentation.  I’ll kick off a wiki soon and reply to this thread.
