Hello all,

I have been using one of our BUGwifi’s to connect to my lab router. I set the ip statically, i.e. 192.168.13.X, and the interface comes up and I can ping, ssh, etc. However, it will drop its connection frequently! Are there any know issues with the wireless driver?

How do you mean it drops the connection?  Are you using the connection manager gui or /etc/network/interfaces + wpa_supplicant to connect?  If you give me some more information I can probably help.

I set everything in our /etc/network/interfaces file under eth1:

I always have to ssh into 10.10.10.10 and ifup/down eth1 to get it working correctly. More than likely, I did it the wrong way.

One new, and undesirable, behavior is the fact that the BUG resets my SSH connection! How do I configure sshd to not kick me out of my connection over wireless interface.

There’s a known issue likely due to SDIO and write-latency via ssh/scp.  The way that I typically get around it is that I ssh into my BUG, and if I have a file I want scp’d up to my BUG, I scp it “up from BUG” (i.e. scp mylogin@myhost:/path/to/mylargefile . ).  That seems to resolve the issue.  If on the other hand you scp “up from host”, (i.e. scp mylargefile root@bug:/home/root) you’ll get a connection drop.

One other way to ensure that eth1 comes up properly for you is to write an init script to do it:
