so the bug comes with a base program on it? do i have to do all the programing for it or is it off the base program that you do the programing? can any one clear this up? what kind of books do i need to read to help me on the road to becoming a programer. i know HTML and that’s it.

Hi Jessie,

The BUG will be shipped without any applications installed on it. You can either download a pre-made community application (available on BUGnet via SDK), or create your own using Java.

As far as good books are concerned, you might want to check out Java Programming for the Absolute Beginner:

Another book we’re using and love here in the office (that also has great reviews on Amazon) is Head First Java:

It’s also worth mentioning that if you want access to BUG data but don’t want to program, you can also use the web services. For example, to take a picture, a href="service/Camera" will do the trick!
