Is there anything in JNI somewhere that exposes some of the information that the wifi adapter gives to the OS?  In particular, I am trying to get the list off available AP’s or SSID’s, whichever.  From what I can tell, this information is not natively available in Java.  Any advice that anyone can give would be awesome.

@jconnolly, question.  In your IPaddressMenuNode application, when you are making the List of nodes that branch off of the inner class, you are calling new AbstractMenuNode(string, parent).  I am sure I am missing something, but how are you getting away with that?

No, that’s a way of saying that java handles memory management internally, via its GarbageCollector.  I can can create anonymous inner objects to my heart’s content, but upon the return from that method/class, the objects are discarded and the memory is reclaimed.
