It is not always the best team that wins in football; often it is the team that plays the best on that day. Alfred Morris Womens Jersey . As much as being able to play in a Super Bowl game is a dream come true for many, if not all, players, there is a level of anxiety and insecurity that must be managed and used to a personal advantage for the players. The closer it gets to the actual game, the more you realize that no matter the position, you will be evaluated with greater intensity than ever before. Or maybe ever will in your career. It is very true that as there are different people, there are people that handle the pressure of a championship game differently. So how do you handle pressure? How do you maximize a moment when the moment is so public? The obvious answer is to prepare or even over-prepare. To make sure you have covered every possible situation and scenario that could occur and feel confident that you will react correctly. When you are prepared, you have a peace of mind that generates confidence. The other mentality that needs to be mastered is the ability to relax and enjoy the process. For many, including myself, this is difficult to do because we all tend to live in the future rather than enjoy the present. Football, especially across the line of scrimmage, is a fight. You raise and lower your intensity and focus from play to play, depending on the circumstance. But the key is to stay intense and relaxed throughout the game. I know it sounds like a contradiction in terms but it is an emotional state of mind that is effective. There is a balance there that players constantly strive to achieve and feel. It is classified as being in the zone, a unique level of concentration where all outside is not present and only the purpose of the moment is relevant. It takes awareness and mass repetition but for any human being, it is very possible. And its a wonderful feeling; hard to describe but confident in feeling, not so much as a discipline of the mind as a choice of disciplining yourself. If you ever want to achieve it, you must learn to concentrate. In the media room at the Indianapolis Convention Center, there are 20 different conversations going on. I can hear them all but I choose to not lift my vision away from the paper Im writing on and the pen Im using. The way I have learned to handle the pressure of the moment is to first, be immensely prepared and secondly, raise my concentration within the moment. Notice I didnt say my emotion, but my concentration. Everything happens in the mind first and the body second. I can only imagine what will be going through the players individual minds during the national anthem on Super Bowl Sunday. Flashbacks to childhood dreams? Visual acknowledgement of the opponent 53 yards away looking at you? An overriding desire to just get started so you can move and begin the game? For each individual player, its a different type of pressure to manage. In the end, the only person that can create a great game or a bad memory is you. If you are prepared and you are in the zone, there is nothing else you can do. You are ready. Concentration is a mindset that can create success because concentration overrides emotion. It controls it and funnels it into positive action. As much as football is a physical sport, it is a mind game; a mind battle within yourself. So allow me to rephrase my opening sentence. Its not the best team that wins, its the team that can concentrate at the highest level that will win. That is, the mind first and the body second. Pierre Garcon Womens Jersey .
