I developed my todo app on Debian Etch. I pulled it down from my SVN repository tonight onto my MacBook running Leopard with out-of-the-box Java 1.5. The LCD doesn't hang with the new SDK (woo hoo) but I noticed that my menu doesn't appear:![]() Contrast that with the one on Etch: ![]() Should I not be using menus? Will they be available on the real LCD module? |

Whoa there Dave :) I don’t think we even have OS X 10.5 in house at this point. Do you know if this issue is present in 10.4? In general anything that works in linux for the display stuff should be working on the real BUG. |

I switched both my Macs to Leopard already, so I’m not sure if it was a problem in Tiger or not. Leopard still uses 1.5 though. |

I just tried it on 10.4. It has no menu. Hmm…we’ll take a look. Perhaps you can file a defect? |

Oh wait the menu bar is in the Apple menu bar. Tricky. Can you check there? |
|

doh! Well spotted Ken. Yeah it’s there for me too, next to the ..framework… title and it works too. Sorry about that. I can’t get my head around Apple’s version of Java where they integrate it more than I’m used to. |

ok – finsprings. I have to admit I’m taken in by your menu items – eggs, milk, cake and more cake! Even ‘research cake’ – staying true to your bio and nourishing your inner geek and cake love at the same time. It’s great. What kind of cake to you prefer? |

Hello my name is Dave, and I’m a cakeaholic. It’s been 3 hours since my last cake. I am not too fussy when it comes to cake, but I prefer the home-made ‘with love’ kind over generic mass-produce supermarket birthday cake or whatever. Local bakeries rock. Icing, but not too sweet. A nice carrot cake, or a cheesecake. Donuts work too. |
