The Rochester Knighthawks re-signed veteran forward Mike Accursi to a one-year
deal on Monday. Jason Witten Jerseys . Accursi remains with
the Knighthawks after helping Rochester win the 2012 Champions Cup. “Its great
being the defending champs,” said Accursi. “Our roster is pretty much intact and
youre adding better and bigger pieces. It looks like its going to be another
exciting season.” The 2012 season was Accursis 15th in the NLL, which he capped
off with his second title with the Knighthawks. His 66 points was his third
highest regular season total of his career, and his most since the 2007
championship season. In the playoffs, he provided five goals and four assists.
Accursi has established himself as one of the most clutch playoff performers in
NLL history, collecting 93 points in 22 games. In his career, Accursi has played
in 220 regular season games, which is the fifth most all-time in league history.
His 368 goals are eighth on the all-time list, and last season he eclipsed the
400-assist and 1,000-point plateau. After spending his summer coaching youth
lacrosse in St. Catharines, Ontario and Six Nations, the 37-year-old forward is
“itching to get back on the floor” with the Knighthawks. ”I am eager to get back
out there and get the Knighthawks jersey on again, and make a run for another
Championship,” said Accursi. “That was the reason I came to Rochester. I liked
the direction they were going. All I want to play for now is Champions Cups.” Jason Witten

Phoenix Coyotes will be without defenceman Rostislav Klesla as they try to close
out their Western Conference playoff semifinal series against the Nashville
Predators. On Sunday, Klesla was suspended for one game by the NHL for boarding
Nashville forward Matt Halischuk in Phoenixs 1-0 victory in Game 4. With or
without Klesla, the Coyotes have the Predators backed in a corner. They are up
3-1 in their best-of-seven series and can advance to a conference finals matchup
with Los Angeles with a victory over the Predators on Monday night. The Kings
completed a four-game sweep of St. Louis on Sunday. But the Coyotes are mixing
confidence with caution. They had a chance to close out their first-round series
against the Chicago Blackhawks at home but lost in overtime in Game 5. Phoenix
went on to a dominating 4-0 triumph on the road in Game 6. “Were aware its not
going to come easy,” said Phoenix centre Antoine Vermette, who played in the
Stanley Cup finals for Ottawa in 2007. “Weve been there just a couple of weeks
ago. Theyre going to play desperate. Thats what we saw with Chicago. Youve got
to come hard. Theyre not going to give it to you. Klesla received a minor
penalty for boarding in the Friday night incident but after the NHL reviewed, a
more serious punishment was thought to be in order. The league said Halischuk
was in a defenceless position when he was hit by Klesla as the two players went
after the loose puck. Brendan Shanahan, NHL senior vice-president for player
safety and hockey operations, explained the decision in a video. “While we would
