(CCA) – The M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Mens and Womens Curling
Championships begin Saturday in Napanee, Ontario. Matt Schaub Jersey .  Both the womens and
mens finals will be played at the Strathcona Paper Centre and will be televised
live across Canada on TSN & RDS (in Quebec). The womens final takes place on
Saturday, February 11 at 7pm et/4pm pt while the mens final is on Sunday,
February 12, also at 7pm et/4pm pt. On the mens side, among this years skips are
Newfoundland/Labradors Colin Thomas of St. Johns, who finished third at last
years M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors in Calgary, won last years CIS/CCA
University Curling Championship and most recently earned a silver medal at the
Karuizawa Invitational in Japan. Also, Yukons Thomas Scoffin of Whitehorse, who
was a bronze medallist at the recent Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck,
Austria, will be making a record-tying sixth straight appearance as skip. On the
womens side, Northern Ontario skip Kendra Lilly of Sudbury, third place finisher
in 2010, will be making her fourth appearance, joining others who competed in
last years championship as well, such as New Brunswicks Jennifer Armstrong of
Rothesay, Newfoundland/Labradors Erica Trickett of St. Johns, Northwest
Territories Taryn Williams of Yellowknife, Prince Edward Islands Sarah Fullerton
of Cornwall and Yukons Sarah Koltun of Whitehorse, who will be making a record
sixth Juniors appearance as skip. Alberta has since won a leading 15 mens
titles, Saskatchewan is next with 14, while Ontario has nine, the last by Jake
Walker in 2010 in Sorel-Tracy. Saskatchewan has won a leading 11 womens titles
since 1971, while Ontario has just three crowns, the last by Rachel Homan in
2010 in Sorel-Tracy.  Brooks Reed Womens Jersey . The Rays,
however, have higher aspirations. Tampa Bay has made it very clear that it wants
to win the American League East. The Rays 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins
on Saturday night was the latest example of why they believe that making up six
games and catching the New York Yankees is possible. Kevin Walter Womens Jersey . The Phillies,
who missed injured All-Stars Chase Utley and Ryan Howard for most of the first
half of the season, are playing better now having won 10 of their last 14 games.
. 1 Maria Sharapova and outgoing former top-ranked star Kim Clijsters bowed out
of The Championships on Monday, while reigning champion Petra Kvitova and
four-time winner Serena Williams moved into the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2012.
Duane Brown Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider
Pierre LeBrun reports on ESPN.com that the league has proposed to have free
agency start on July 10 instead of the traditional July 1 opening day. Connor Barwin Jersey . The Houston Rockets
could be looking for something much, much bigger. The teams made a move to
address both needs on Tuesday, just two days before the NBA draft: The
Timberwolves acquired swingman Chase Budinger from the Rockets in exchange for
the 18th overall pick in the draft.SYDNEY – U.S. Open champion Sam Stosur was
beaten by Francesca Schiavone 6-2, 6-4 in the first round of the Sydney
International on Monday, another setback in her preparation for next weeks
Australian Open. Schiavone topped Stosur in the 2010 French Open final and had
little trouble disposing of the local favourite again. No. 6-ranked Stosur won
only one match in Brisbane last week and will be short of match sharpness in
Melbourne, where she will chase back-to-back Grand Slam titles following her win
over Serena Williams in the U.S. Open final last September. Schiavone will next
play Brisbane International finalist Daniela Hantuchova, who beat another
Italian, Roberta Vinci, 7-5, 6-2. While Stosur struggled, defending champion Li
Na, third-seeded Victoria Azarenka, No. 7 Agnieszka Radwanska and No. 8-seeded
Marion Bartoli advanced to the second round. Li won the first nine games and
needed only 66 minutes to beat Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova 6-0, 6-3.
The French Open champion will face South African qualifier Chanelle Scheepers,
who had a 6-4, 6-2 win over Melinda Czink of Hungary. Li had a breakout season
in 2011, reaching the Australian Open final and then becoming the first player
from China to win a major with her title at Roland Garros. Last week, she won
all her singles matches at the Hopman Cup, and the No. 5-ranked Li is looking
forward. “Last year is over,” Li said. “I dont have to think about what I did
already last year. I mean, everyone has to look forward to see what you should
do right now.” Nine of the top 10 ranked women were entered in the Sydney
International. Already, two are out oof contention after Stosur and sixth-seeded
Vera Zvonareva failed in the first round; Zvonareva was soundly beaten 6-1, 6-2
by Russian compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova. Andre Johnson White Jersey. Slovakias
Dominika Cibulkova had a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Peng Shuai of China to set up a
second-round match against No. 1-ranked Caroline Wozniacki, who had a
first-round bye. Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania routed Swedens Sofia Arvidsson
6-1, 6-1 and will next play Petra Kvitova, the Wimbledon champion who can
displace Wozniacki atop the rankings by winning the Sydney tournament. Kvitova
has been reluctant to talk about reaching the top spot, even after winning four
singles — including a match against Wozniacki —to help Czech Republic win the
Hopman Cup on the weekend. “Im still hearing this question about the first
position in WTA,” Kvitova said Monday. “Sometimes its really crazy. I dont know
what I have to answer all the time, but what I still say is that Im not really
focused on the first spot.” In other first-round matches, Azarenka of Belarus
beat Stefanie Vogele of Switzerland 6-2, 6-1; Bartoli of France beat Polona
Hercog of Slovenia 6-3, 6-3; Radwanska beat her sister Urszula Radwanska 6-1,
6-1; and Andrea Petkovic of Germany beat Russias Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2,
6-3. In the mens draw, sixth-seeded Ryan Sweeting of the United States edged
Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5; Polands Lukasz Kubot had a 7-6
(4), 7-5 win over Ivan Dodig of Croatia; Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan beat Spains
Pablo Andujar, and Finlands Jarkko Nieminen ousted Australian teenager James
Duckworth 6-2, 6-2. ’ ’ ’
