Steve Bauer is arguably the best cyclist Canada has ever produced. Matt Bryant Womens Jersey . Starting his
amateur career in 1977, Bauer went on to win multiple national titles,
representing Canada around the world, including at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic
Games, where he won silver in the mens road race. From there, Bauer took to the
professional circuit, riding in 11 editions of the Tour de France. At his first
Tour, in 1985, Bauer finished tenth, while wearing the white jersey, reserved
for the best young rider. Then in 1988 and again in 1990, Bauer spent multiple
days in the yellow jersey, given to the overall leader of the Tour. He also had
some of his best performances at the one-day classic, the Paris-Roubaix. Bauer
has raced with some of the biggest legends in cycling, including Lance
Armstrong, who once called Bauer to offer him a job running the US Postal
Service team of which Armstrong was a member. Bauer is still hard at work in
cycling, as the Team Director Sportif for Team SpiderTech. His goal is to build
the first Canadian team to compete at the Tour de France. If successful, Bauer
is also likely to have fostered the kind of riders that could take over the
crown of Canadas most successful cyclist. “The Canadian aspect of the team is
extremely important,” said Bauer, who also turned down a chance to work with
Britains Team Sky Procycling. “Its an extremely big challenge to overcome, but
it also means a tremendous future for the sport in Canada.” So far the team has
continued to build success, while racing in both North America and Europe. The
goal has been to show performances that can earn the team invitations to the
premier level of the sport. To that end, the team has secured a house in Europe
to act as a training base, and the roster is full of riders who have put in
strong performances. Sprinter Guillaume Boivin finished fourth at the GP Pino
Cerami, Ryan Roth won at the Tro Bro Leon race, and Will Routley finished tenth
overall at the difficult Tour of Turkey.  The team has also been invited to
compete at the Tour de Suisse, which represents a big step in the right
direction. “This is fantastic news for all of us at Team SpiderTech. We made
very public our vision to crack the WorldTour, and this is another step in the
right direction. We will use this golden opportunity to show we can race amongst
the biggest teams, in the largest races. Our results this season, three podiums
early in the season capped with a few top-15 rankings in classic races, are a
testament of the strength of our program,” said Bauer. To help build his
program, Bauer has led scouting camps at hockey camps, identifying athletes with
the strength and capability to be professional cyclists. That was the first step
in identifying talent that could form a new pool of riders to represent Canada
at the highest level. “The foundation that weve built for road cyclists and the
opportunities weve given to our young riders to compete on the world stage is
unprecedented,” said Bauer. “We have a real shot to compete on the world stage
in the next 24 months, in the World Tour and the Tour de France.” Team
SpiderTech is heading to the United States to compete at the Amgen Tour of
California, against some of the biggest teams in professional cycling. The Tour
of California starts on May 13, 2012, and finishes in May 20, 2012 in Los
Angeles, having covered nearly 1,200km. Dean Campbell is digital producer for

into the eighth inning and the Miami Marlins moved within a victory of tying the
team record for the most in a month with a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants
on Saturday. Dunta Robinson Womens Jersey . She was on the

. For another day, at least. The Phillies say they will send Roy Halladay to see
a doctor on Tuesday, two days after he came out of a start due to a sore right
shoulder. Thomas DeCoud Jersey . With Drew Tate
electing to have shoulder surgery that will sideline the quarterback for the
rest of the CFL season, Glenn has stepped into the starters role but is off to a
shaky start. Julio Jones Jersey .C., won gold in the mens
final at the Snowboarding Gran Prix on Saturday.TORONTO—The Toronto Blue Jays
have outrighted first baseman Adam Lind to the minors and selected the contract
of pitcher Robert Coello. Lind was optioned to triple-A Las Vegas on May 17
after batting .186 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 34 games for the Jays. The
move takes Lind off the 40-man roster to make room for Coello. “We needed a spot
on the (rotation), so we put (Lind) on waivers a few days ago and he cleared,”
Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos said on a conference call Thursday. “Whenever he
finds his way back here well just clear a spot again.” Coello, a 27-year-old
righty, is 3-1 with a 3.22 earned-run average in 17 games with Las Vegas.
Toronto had a spot to fill after left-hander Aaron Laffey was optioned to Las
Vegas following Wednesdays 4-1 win over Baltimore. Laffey, 27, has yet to make
an appearance with the Jays this season despite callups in April and May. He is
2-5 with a 4.88 ERA in nine starts for Las Vegas. “Aaron and Robert, either one
could have been up here,” Anthopoulos said. “It just got to the point where we
needed to get Aaron back into the rotation otherwise it didnt make any sense. Matt Ryan Womens Jersey. The longer he sat
here, the further behind he would have been to continue to be a starter option
for us down the road.” Anthopoulos said Lind was responding well to being sent
Las Vegas. “He thinks his timing is a lot better and he thinks so far its going
very, very well for him,” Anthopoulos said. “His confidence is definitely in the
right place, and he feels hes made a lot of changes and adjustments and hes on
the right path.” Anthopoulos also said he didnt put much stock into Baltimore
pitcher Jason Hammels assertion that the Blue Jays were stealing signs. Hammel
gave up four solo homers in the Orioles 4-1 loss to the Jays on Wednesday. “Our
players, when they have a bad game, they choose to answer the questions and they
blame themselves,” he said. “They take accountability and that ends up being the
end of it. “How other players want to handle things is their choice.” ’ ’ ’
