We did want to give you guys a few days to just ‘mess around’ with the SDK, forums, independently. Expect to see the pace picking up quite rapidly! -jt

My experience so far is that it’s hard to get the SDK set up entirely in RAM —my hard drive is on the fritz, so I’m running entirely from LiveCDs! The example apps are nice, though. :-)
I’m mostly waiting for the update that lets the display component not hang on OS X. Also, with the way the API is for the display right now, it’s tough to imagine creating anything that would end up looking right on the real device.

I was wondering this myself. It seems like we have 41 users out of 500 testers. Kind of scared. Testing is going slow for me I am trying to get use to the SDK a tad odd for me but I thought we would have like 100-200 people around these parts.
I for one and ready to see some hardware the emulator bug seems to be working good but i myself am a hands on person.

I had a busy weekend (Adobe’s OnAIR Bus Tour event in Chicago), but I got the chance to explain what the Bug Labs platform is to a few people and ask what others would do with it (my laptop didn’t get Eclipse before the event, so I had to just explain it and give out the buglabs.net URL.) I now have a few ideas I wouldn’t have normally thought up, though they were mostly way too complex for me to attempt coding yet.
The main problem so far is that I feel kind of unfocused, especially with the question about whether we’ve written any apps yet. While the SDK is definitely there and so it should be possible to write new apps, I think the fact that there is no documentation other than the generated Javadocs is a limiting factor. I know the guys at Bug Labs are intimately aware of how everything works since they wrote it, but I seem to be stuck in the rut of reading the sample app code, trial and error, and poking around to find interesting things at this point.
Getting back to the first line of the last paragraph, beyond downloading the sample apps and banging on things until we break something, is there any chance we might get some (general) guidelines of what we should focus our time on?
I’ve had a few issues with the hardware emulator that made me suspect bugs, but I’ve yet to find one that I can reproduce accurately on my own. I’m guessing the stability of the hardware emulator is the most important thing right now, but chasing weird glitches (sometimes adding an LCD module crashes Eclipse, sometimes apps won’t run until all of the apps I’ve grabbed off BugNet are open, etc)
Just thought I’d throw this all out there, and please keep in mind I’m operating on very little sleep right now, so I apologize if not all of this makes sense. :)

edit: relevent system info: Mac OSX running Eclipse. I also have Eclipse on my Linux system, but I haven’t spent enough time on there to see if it is more or less stable running the hardware emulator.
