Apologies if this is stated elsewhere, but I’m curious as to whether you plan on releasing the source to the various components. For example, the JARs in the SDK don’t include the source right now.
I’m not advocating it one way or the other (I’m a big fan of FLOSS, but I also make my living writing closed-source code), but I imagine that it’s a question that will come up more than once, so I figured I ought to ask.
Our middle name is open source! In fact, even our pet’s middle names are open source, but if you ask them they probably wouldn’t realize it. In any case the source to the SDK and virtual bug are detailed on the FAQ page here:
I probably wouldn’t volunteer my time to a project if the contributions I made wouldn’t be open to the public. Open source supporters need to help businesses that push and popularize open source—that’s why I’m here. =D
Absolutely. I didn't have any doubt that our contributions would remain open source; I just wasn't clear if the underpinnings of the framework we're using would be, since the JARs in the SDK didn't contain the source. From Ken's post, the source to the framework is coming in an update to the SDK, so all's well with the world.
