DETROIT —The Detroit Tigers have traded outfielder Jeff Baker to the Atlanta
Braves. Detroit dealt Baker on Friday, the same day he was designated for
assignment. The Braves will give the Tigers a player to be named later no later
than Sept. 30. Baker hit .200 with four RBIs in 15 games with the Tigers, who
got him less than a month ago from the Chicago Cubs for two minor leaguers to be
named. Baker has a career .268 batting average over eight seasons with the

head coach Tony Dungy said Monday he would probably take a week to decide if he
wants to return for the 2008 season. There has been speculation that Dungy will
step down from his position, one year after winning the Super Bowl. The Colts
were eliminated from this years playoffs on Sunday in a 28-24 loss to the San
Diego Chargers. “My wife and I will sit down and evaluate [the situation] this
week,” said Dungy at a Monday news conference. “I have met with [owner] Jim
Irsay and [team president] Bill [Polian]. “Well probably come to some decisioon
this weekend and be ready to move forward on Monday, one way or
another.ddddddddddddIm hoping to be back, but well see what happens.” Dungy has
spent the past six seasons with the Colts, reaching the playoffs each year with
at least 10 victories. He has a regular-season record of 73-23, including 13-3
this past season, with Indianapolis—winning five straight AFC South titles.
Before taking over the Colts prior to the 2002 season, Dungy spent six years as
the head coach of Tampa Bay. He had a regular-season mark of 54-42 with the
