WILKES BARRE, Pa. Rahim Moore Jersey . —Ben Maxwell scored 27
seconds into overtime Sunday as the St. Johns IceCaps rallied for a 3-2 win over
the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in American Hockey League playoff action. The
IceCaps now lead 3-1 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Game 5 is Tuesday in Wilkes-Barre. Maxwells winner came on a scramble in front
of the Penguins net. Jason King pushed a rebound into a crowd near the crease
and Maxwell put it in for the game-winner. “It hit a couple shin pads in there
and managed to wind up on my stick and go in,” Maxwell said.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took a 2-0 lead in the first period by scoring on its
first two shots, but the IceCaps answered back with two in the second. “I
thought we held our composure when we could have lost focus and gotten
frustrated,” St. Johns coach Keith McCambridge said. Colin McDonald connected
from the slot at 4:30 of the first for his team-high fifth goal of the playoffs
for Wilkes-Barre, before Eric Tangradi converted from close range 2:19 later
after taking a pass from Geoff Walker. Tangradi assisted McDonalds goal with a
pass from the left corner. “Weve got a great defensive corps,” Maxwell said. “We
figured if we could shut them out for the rest of the 40 or so minutes, the
offence would take care of itself.” Derek Meech, the leagues top scoring
defenceman in the playoffs, scored his fourth goal for St. Johns on a power play
at 4:24 of the second. Meech sent a wrist shot from the right point through
traffic into the upper left corner of the net. Maxime Macenauer tied the game at
16:35 off a cross-ice pass from Paul Postma. A scoreless third period sent the
teams into overtime for the second time in less than 24 hours and St. Johns
again came out on top. “Wilkes-Barre is a very good team and is playing some
strong hockey,” McCambridge said. “All of the games have been really strongly
contested and expect more of the same.” IceCaps goaltender Eddie Pasquale needed
to make just 14 saves for the win, while Brad Thiessen stopped 26 shots for
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. John Elway Jersey . Johnson nailed her
routine that is chock-full of difficult tricks, earning a 16.225. The world
champion, who already had a silver behind fellow American Nastia Liukin in the
all-around, and a silver on floor and in the team event, edged Liukin, who
finished with a gold, three silvers and a bronze. Peyton Manning Red Jersey . Second-seeded
Alexandr Dolgopolov faced No. 8 Sam Querrey in the second semifinal. Haas, the
German ranked 36th in the world, improved to 4-1 against Fish, and has won six
of his last seven matches against top-15 players. http://www.nfldenverbroncosstore.com/peyton-manning-jersey
. But most important to the Stampeders is heading into the CFL playoffs on a
winning note. Calgary (10-7) entered into the final week of the regular season
tied atop the West Division standings with Edmonton and B. Peyton Manning Womens Jersey . If the
all-star point guard were looking for something to make him feel better, this
sure didnt hurt. Von Miller Jersey . The veteran defensive
backs return to Rogers Centre on Monday when the B. FRIBOURG, Switzerland—
Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle scored with 0.8 seconds left in regulation
and then added the shootout winner Sunday as Canada downed Switzerland 2-1 in an
exhibition game ahead of the IIHF World Hockey Championship. Daniel Rubin scored
in the third period to give the Swiss a 1-0 lead before Eberle tied it late.
Devan Dubnyk, also of the Oilers, was solid in goal for the Canadians. Canada
coach Brent Sutter said he was happy with his teams performance but added theres
still a lot of work to do. “I thought especially in the first two periods it was
a really high-paced game. Both teams had some quality scoring chances, both
goalies played well,” Sutter said. “For our first game and only having been
together for 48 hours as a group and having only had two practices I thought we
handled it all pretty well. To get a win is a confidence boost.” Sutter coached
the Calgary Flames for the last three seasons and is seeing Eberle, Dubnyk and
fellow Oilers teammate Ryan Nugent-Hopkins from a different perspective behind
Canadas bench. “No question Eberle played really well. I thought both him and
(Nugent-Hopkins) were both really good and you can tell theyve obviously played
together,” Sutter said. “They make things happen but theyre also dependable
players defensively too and its always nice to have that from your top players.
“I thought Dubnyk made some big saves at key times and overall as a group I was
happy with the work ethic and the competitiveness. Shannon Sharpe Jersey. . Now its just about
working on our details.” Sutter acknowledged that any player or coach at the
world hockey championship representing Canada has had a disappointing end to
their NHL season. “Any player who doesnt make the playoffs or gets beat out in
the first round, youre always disappointed,” Sutter said. “But then you get the
opportunity to represent your country in a tournament like this—its like a
second chance.” The same holds true for Sutter, who parted ways with the Flames
at the end of the regular season after missing the playoffs for the third
straight campaign. Despite not having a job in the NHL, he doesnt see this
tournament as an audition for future employment. “For myself I dont look at it
as though Ive got anything to prove. Im here to coach this team and trying to
succeed and I was selected by Hockey Canada to be the head coach and very proud
and honoured to do that,” Sutter said. “I dont get caught up in the fact that
this is something thats going to make or break my career with coaching. I know
that Im unemployed in the National Hockey League and thats just the way it is.
“Thats coaching and thats the way it goes when you dont have success. That
happens and you have to hold your head up and move on.” Canada and Switzerland
will meet in another exhibition game Tuesday in Kloten, Switzerland. Canada
opens the tournament May 4 in Helsinki, Finland, against Slovakia. ’ ’ ’
