Fridays game against the Washington Capitals wasnt a must win for the Winnipeg
Jets, but a loss would have seriously hurt their playoff chances. Andrew Luck Jersey . With four points
separating the two teams in the Eastern Conference, not only was a win needed,
but a win in regulation. Andrew Ladd opened the scoring with his 24th goal of
the season and 18th at home. Blake Wheeler drew an assist on the goal to extend
his point streak to six games. However, before in-house announcer – Jay
Richardson of TSN 1290 - could even finish the goal call, the Capitals
Brooks Laich had tied the game up. Only 22 seconds went by between goals.
Nik Antropov scored for the second straight game, giving him four goals in his
last seven games, to regain the lead for the Jets with under four minutes left
in the second. With Alex Ovechkin all over him, Antropov chipped a Tim Stapleton
pass into the top of the net. Then the Jets had a chance for a real turning with
a two-man advantage for 1:39, but great penalty killing by the Caps kept
Winnipeg from scoring. Goalie Tomas Vokoun and defenceman Karl Alzner were
terrific on the kill. And just as the power play ended, Toby Enstrom was called
for holding, meaning the Caps would start the third period with the man
advantage. Mathieu Perreault scored 27 seconds into the third to tie the game
again and the battle continued. Midway through the third, Dustin Byfuglien used
his size and strength on a four-on-four to score what would be the winner for
the Jets in a 3-2 game. With the goal and assist, Byfuglien is now in sole
possession of third place in the NHL in scoring by defencemen. He has five goals
and 21 points in his last 16 games. Byfuglien was actually shaken up in the
third, missing a shift, but coach Claude Noel said Byfuglien will be fine for
Sundays game against Carolina (TSN Jets, TSN 1290) in his post-game news
conference. Zach Bogosian may also be ready for Sundays game. Ladd now has eight
goals, six assists, and 14 points in his last 12 games. Wheeler now has 26
points in his last 20 games, and 52 points in his last 51 games. With the assist
Kane now has points in 12 of his last 13 games (9-9-18). There was plenty of
adversity for the Jets in this one: having the Caps score 22 seconds after Ladd
opened the scoring, not scoring on the long five-on-three, having Washington
score on their power-play early in the third to tie the game, and having to kill
a Ron Hainsey penalty late in the third to preserve the win. Jim Slater and
Bryan Little were once again key on the face-offs. Said Little after the game:
“I like our competitiveness. This is a great opportunity for us to make the
playoffs which would be a first for a lot of us.” Ondre Pavelec added: “The fans
were crazy. Great to be a part of it, but we have another big game Sunday.” And
Blake Wheeler: “We stayed confident. Through all the things that happened in the
game, no one doubted we were going to win. We understand how bad the fans want
us to make the playoffs and they understand how bad we want it as well.”
Andrew Ladd: “Dont have time to look at what we have done, practice Saturday and
get ready for Sunday.” Coach Noel said after the game: “The game was all it was
made out to be. We had the better scoring chances, battled adversity and won. We
played well. Too many turnovers (13) in the first period but we got better. We
did a good job on Ovechkin, especially Grant Clitsome. These are the types of
games we need to get ready for playoffs. It was a good learning game for our
young guys.” The Jets were physical on Ovechkin every chance they had. So after
an emotional win the worry is about a let-down Sunday. “We will not take them
lightly,” continued Noel. “The emotional level may not be there, but well
discuss that Saturday. We have to get the pace up in the game.” So the Jets are
now just two points back of Washington for eighth place in the Eastern
Conference. The Caps are in Chicago on Sunday, Detroit on Monday, Philadelphia
on Thursday and then back home to the Jets on Friday. Winnipeg is home to
Carolina on Sunday, in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Washington on Friday and Nashville
on Saturday. Pat Angerer Jersey . Mike Moser added 16
points and 18 rebounds, Oscar Bellfield had 16 points and nine rebounds, and
Anthony Marshall finished with 13 points for the Rebels (7-0). P.J. Hairston and
John Henson each had 15 points for North Carolina (5-1). Andrew Luck Womens Jersey . From former
coaches and teammates to junior and Olympic teammates, the Devils and Kings have
a number a connections that will reunite over the next few weeks. One need only
to look back to the 2003 NHL Draft to see where many of the key figures in this
years Stanley Cup Final started their NHL careers. http://www.nikeindianapoliscoltsproshop.com/dwight-freeney-jersey

is flat on the ice, because the paddles come in different sizes. Reggie Wayne Jersey . —Royals manager Ned
Yost and outfielder Jeff Francoeur both had been ejected long before the ninth
inning of Thursday nights game against Milwaukee, so they had to settle for
watching its dramatic conclusion on television. Robert Mathis Jersey .C. —Wake Forest

ANGELES, Calif. – Embattled Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and Major
League Baseball reached an agreement late Tuesday to sell one of the sports most
storied franchises, ending a seven-year tenure that saw the team return to the
playoffs regularly but was recently mired in legal troubles capped by its filing
for bankruptcy protection. A joint statement said there will be a
“court-supervised process” to sell the team and its media rights to maximize
value for the Dodgers and McCourt. The Blackstone Group LP will manage the sale,
which could include Dodger Stadium and the surrounding parking lots. The
announcement came as the Dodgers and MLB were headed toward a showdown in U.S.
Bankruptcy Court in Delaware at the end of the month as mediation between both
sides was ongoing. McCourt and baseball Commissioner Bud Selig have traded barbs
since MLB took control of day-to-day operation of the team in April over
concerns about the teams finances and the way it was being run. McCourt
apparently realized a sale of the team he vowed never to give up was in his best
interest and that of the fans. “There comes a point in time when you say, Its
time,” said a person familiar with the situation who requested anonymity because
details of the negotiations had not been made public. “He came to that
realization at the end of today.” McCourt filed for bankruptcy protection in
June after the league rejected a 17-year TV contract with Fox, reported to be
worth up to $3 billion, that he needed to keep the team afloat. Selig noted that
almost half of an immediate $385 million payment would have been diverted from
the Dodgers to McCourt. The franchises demise grew out of Frank McCourts
protracted divorce with Jamie McCourt and the couples dispute over the ownership
of the team. The divorce, which played out in public in court, highlighted
decadent spending on mansions and beach homes and using the team as if it were
their personal credit card. They took out more than $100 million in loans from
Dodgers-related businesses for their own use, according to divorce documents. In
bankruptcy filings, attorneys for MLB said McCourt “looted” more than $180
million in revenues from the club for personal use and other business unrelated
to the team. “The Dodgers are in bankruptcy because Mr. McCourt has taken almost
$190 million out of the club and has completely alienatedd the Dodgers fan
base,” the baseball attorneys wrote.dddddddddddd As the former couple continued
to fight over ownership of the team, the Dodgers home opener against the rival
San Francisco Giants kicked off a year of even worse publicity. A Giants fan,
Bryan Stow, was nearly beaten to death in the parking lot. Stows family has sued
the Dodgers, and his attorney said medical bills could reach $50 million. In the
outpouring of public sympathy, attention focused on cutbacks in security at
Dodger stadium and fans turned their animosity toward Frank McCourt. Scores of
police were dispatched to patrol the stadium after the attack. Dodgers attorneys
claimed Selig deliberately starved the club of cash and destroyed its reputation
in a bid to seize control of the team and force its sale. “As the commissioner
knows and as our legal documents have clearly shown, he approved and praised the
structure of the team about which he belatedly complains,” the team said in a
statement. The team was asking Judge Kevin Gross in Delaware to approve an
auction of the teams television rights as the best path to exit bankruptcy. But
the league wanted to file a reorganization that called for the team to be sold.
Last month, Jamie McCourt cut a deal with her ex-husband to settle their dispute
over ownership of the team they bought in 2004 for about $430 million. The terms
of the settlement between the McCourts werent disclosed publicly, but a person
familiar with it who requested anonymity because its not meant to be public told
The Associated Press that Jamie McCourt would receive about $130 million. She
also would support the media rights deal worth up to $3 billion. That removed
her from the number of opponents Frank McCourt was facing in bankruptcy court
because Jamie McCourt had initially lined up behind MLB and Fox in asking the
bankruptcy court to reject his bid to auction Dodgers television rights. All the
bad publicity appeared to drive fans away. There was a 21 per cent drop in home
attendance from last season and it was the first time in a non-strike year since
1992 that the Dodgers drew fewer than 3 million people. A new owner would be the
third since Peter OMalley sold the team to News Corp. in 1998. The Dodgers had
remained in the OMalley family since Walter OMalley moved the team from Brooklyn
to Los Angeles in 1958. The Dodgers finished this season with an 82-79 record. ’
