FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. Robert Mathis Jersey . —Victorias Cory Renfrew earned his first Canadian Tour victory in thrilling fashion Sunday, defeating Matt Hill of Sarnia, Ont., in a four-hole playoff to capture the Syncrude Boreal Open. Renfrew carded a course record 63 in the final round, then won the all-Canadian playoff by converting a five-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole. “I knew birdie would have to win it,” said Renfrew, who carded nine birdies in his final round including five straight and on six of his first seven holes. “I was fortunate to come out on top.” After Hill birdied the final hole of regulation to force extra holes, both players made routine pars on the first two trips down the par-5 18th in sudden death. Then, after Hills approach during the third playoff hole flew the green and clanged off the grandstands, the 23-year old made an outstanding shot to match Renfrews par and force a fourth extra hole. Both players proceeded to hit approaches to within five feet, but only Renfrew was able to convert his, giving him the victory. “Seeing Matt hit one in there close, I figured it was time to bear down and hit one close too,” said Renfrew. “I figured we were going back for another hole. Matts a great player and its just unfortunate he missed his.” The 26-year old Renfrew earned $24,000 for the victory. While he was unable to secure victory, Hills earnings of $14,400 gave him the ability to join the Canadian Tour as a member for the remainder of the 2012 season. As an affiliate member, Hill needed to earn the equivalent of 50th place on the 2011 Order of Merit to secure status, a number he has now exceeded by more than $8,000. Nate McCoy of Des Moines, Iowa, shot a one-under 71 to place third. McCoy was the leader after the first three rounds and took a one-shot lead over Hill heading into the final round. Three shots back of McCoy at 11-under par were Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., and Daniel Im. Pat Angerer Jersey . France had the better possession, but mistakes handed Argentina a try in each half, while France could only manage one try. France hasnt won a game in Argentina against Los Pumas since 1998, but will get a chance in the final game of its two-game tour on June 23 in Tucuman. T.Y. Hilton Jersey . The 21-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., is expected to lead the Canadian team into the best-of-five tie. Canada must win in order to remain in the World Group for 2013, while a loss would relegate the squad back to Americas Zone Group I. http://www.nflcoltsfan.com/adam-vinatieri-jersey . Their attitude shifted from agitated to optimistic. For the third straight series, the Eastern Conferences top-seeded team is all even through four games, and each time New York has headed into Game 5 off the disappointment of a loss that would have given the Rangers a commanding 3-1 edge. Andrew Luck Jersey . The move is retroactive to May 6. Robertson has a record of 1-0 with a 6.30 earned run average in eight appearances out of the bullpen this season. The lefty had been part of the rotation for most of his first six seasons with Detroit, as all but six of his 168 games with the Tigers before this year were starts. Coby Fleener Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla.DETROIT—Josh Hamilton was in the clubhouse with his Texas teammates, trying to stay hopeful a day after finding out he could miss two months with a broken arm. “Obviously, Id like to be out there playing with them, but itll be fun to watch them the next few weeks,” Hamilton said. “Ill work hard and do what I need to do to get back as soon as I can.” Hamilton broke his upper right arm on a headfirst dive into home plate Tuesday at Detroit. The Rangers put him on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, but the reigning AL MVP is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the humerus bone at the top of his right arm, just below the shoulder. He isnt expected to swing a bat for a month. Hamilton tried to score from third on a foul popup. He called the daring dash “stupid” after Tuesdays game and said third-base coach Dave Anderson told him to go. He said Wednesday he doesnt hold Anderson responsible for the injury. “People are going to say that Im throwing my coach under the bus or whatever, but Im just telling you what happened,” Hamilton said. “I listened to my coach and went. I dont blame Dave for this happening.” Texas recalled infielder Chris Davis from triple-A Round Rock. Hamilton hit .359 with 32 home runs and 100 RBIs in 2010. Hes hitting .333 this season, and his spot in the lineup will be difficult to fill. Manager Ron Washington said the injury likely will mean a bigger role for outfielder David Murphy, who started in left field Wednesday against the Tigers. Michael Young takes Hamiltons Noo. Andrew Luck Elite Jersey. 3 spot in the batting order after hitting fifth for eight of the first 11 games. “Were going to put nine guys out there and were going to go after it and see if we can hold this thing together,” Washington said. The injury occurred Tuesday after Adrian Beltre lifted a foul pop near the Tigers dugout. Hamilton was on third base, having just made a headfirst slide on an RBI triple in the first inning. Third baseman Brandon Inge and catcher Victor Martinez both chased the ball, leaving the plate unprotected. Inge made the catch, Hamilton tagged up and took off. Inge tossed to Martinez, who scampered back in time to tag Hamilton. “It was a hell of a play,” Detroit manager Jim Leyland said Wednesday. “We should have had two guys there. We really didnt have anybody there. ... Its a shame he got hurt.” Hamilton said afterward the play was “way too aggressive”—but Anderson said the teams style isnt going to change. “Its an aggressive play that we tried to do and it didnt work. That took us a long way last year—a lot of those plays that we did. Thats part of our game,” Anderson said. “If he doesnt get hurt, then were not even talking about this right now. Hes out at home plate, we go back out. ... My job at third base is two things: Make sure they get the signs, and try to score as many runs as we can possibly score.” Washington wasnt going to second-guess his slugger too much. “He could have slid feet first and broken his ankle,” Washington said. “Anything can happen.” ’ ’ ’
