Many, many applications can be implemented using the present arrangement, but I believe we can make space for more modules. Ones that have spare space, like GPS, can house one more connector on top while they are still connected to the base. We can similarly stack modules on top of each other. A module like LCD screen or the cam can only be on top though.

At least communication-only modules can house an extra connector, only at the risk of looking ugly. If we can shift the camera lens on one of the narrow faces, we get space on top.

Cheers!

Saw all of your suggestions, thanks very much! We also agree that there need to be numerous ways to expand the platform. What you’ve seen so far is only our first wave of modules, but methods of expanding connectivity are definitely on our minds. Ultimately we want the BUG to be useful to you/the community, so as we bring more modules out, we plan to have the community very involved in the process!

another option would be some kind of squid like system, where a spreader connector is put onto the base, and then each of those can have maybe 3 ports on the sides and one on top (for putting either a new squid or a module). in each of the 3 side ports one can then put a arm, and on each arm a pad of attaching a module.

with this kind of setup one make for a nice base for building worn computers ;)
