SOELDEN, Austria—World Cup officials were worrying Friday that a drastic
change of weather could threaten this weekends season-opening giant slaloms. Armon Binns Jersey . Forecasts for the
Rettenbach glacier saw temperatures dropping to minus 14 degrees Celsius (7
degrees Fahrenheit), while snowfall, wind and fog were expected to worsen
conditions. “It could be a difficult day,” FIS womens race director Atle
Skaardal said, referring to the womens GS scheduled for Saturday. After days of
crystal clear skies, the bad weather could mean poor race conditions on the
course and could also complicate travel from the village of Soelden, which is
situated at an altitude of 1,400 metres, over a mountain road up to the glacier
at over 2,600 metres. Overall race director Rainer Gstrein told a team captains
meeting that the 13-kilometre drive uphill might only be possible with snow
chains, while organizers were considering whether to provide shuttle buses for
teams to get to the glacier. Gstrein said the weather might slightly improve
during Saturday, though up to 40 centimetres of fresh snow were expected until
Sunday morning, which could also put the mens GS in doubt. Two years ago, the
mens race in Soelden was cancelled after the first run due to thick fog.
According to FIS rules, the first and the last race of a season will not be
rescheduled if cancelled on the initial day. A.J. Green Womens Jersey . Louis, MO (Sports

unrestricted free agent forward Jamie Langenbrunner to a one-year contract. http://www.bengalsfansstore.com/jason-allen-jerseys
.C. —Sprint Cup points leader Greg Biffle feels hes running like he used to at
Darlington Raceway and thats bad news for the rest of the Southern 500 field. Dre Kirkpatrick Jersey . Young matched a
career high with four hits, Aaron Hill hit a three-run homer in a nine-run fifth
inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks routed the Houston Astros 12-4 on Saturday
night. A.J. Green Youth Jersey . PETERSBURG,
Fla.Cody Franson is going to wait until the market settles. The 24-year-old
restricted free agent wants to return to the Leafs next fall, but made clear in
conversation with TSN.ca early Monday evening that he has no interest
in enduring another season like his first in Toronto. A native of Sicamous,
British Columbia, Franson played in only 57 games last year amid inconsistent
ice-time under both Ron Wilson and Randy Carlyle, totaling five goals and 21
points.  A third-round pick of the Predators in 2005, Franson joined
the organization with high hopes last summer – following a trade from Nashville
– sensing greater opportunity with the Leafs. Any optimism he had quickly
faded. The six-foot-five defender landed in the press box on the first day of
the regular season, one of 25 frustrating stints as a healthy scratch. Shown a
regular opportunity from December until February – he played in 38 of 39 games –
Franson produced a respectable 16 points and plus-3 rating. The Leafs extended a
qualifying offer to Franson earlier this month (he made $800,000 last year),
bbut he stressed to TSN. Kevin Zeitler Jersey. ca that hes in no rush
to sign it. With several significant free agent dominoes yet to fall – notably
Ryan Suter and Matt Carle – the blueline market has yet to settle, making the
needs of other franchises unclear at this early point in the renovation season.
Leafs General Manager Brian Burke said Sunday that upgrading the Toronto defence
was a “lower priority”, meaning internal contenders such as
Franson (Korbinian Holzer, Jesse Blacker among them with the Marlies) will be in
line to vie for available opportunity. Luke Schenns departure in the
James Van Riemsdyk swap opened up one such spot. Even with Burkes
assertions, Franson is likely to wait until the dust settles with salary
arbitration his only point of leverage down the line.  Ultimately, his future in
Toronto has less to do with dollars and cents than a desire to contribute.
Franson wants to play and is willing to compete to earn that job, but
understandably, has zero interest in returning to the press box again next
season. ’ ’ ’
